Applications are continuously accepted for:
Temporary Communicators (Contract Positions)
- must be able to work a rotating shift schedule and sit for extended periods of time
- previous dispatch experience or education is preferred
- must be able to type at least 40 words per minute
- previous customer service experience is required
- previous clerical/office experience is an asset

Civilian members are hired to provide for a specific service directly related to a particular area of expertise such as Special Constables, Communications, Records Clerks, Switchboard Operator, Information Technology, Human Resources, Forensic Technicians, Secretarial positions.

Civilian Shift Rotation
Many of our civilian positions follow a 35-day shift rotation. Typical shift hours: Days 7am – 5pm; Afternoons 1pm-11pm; Nights 11pm- 7am. View a sample 35 day shift rotation.
These positions include:
• Records Clerk
• Communicator
• Front Desk Clerk
• PC Support Technician
• Platoon Team Leader, Records Branch
• Special Constable (Cellblock assignment)
Please note: Certain other positions follow a modified version of this 35 day shift schedule. Please check with the Human Resources Civilian Recruiter for more information. Completion of a Personal History Form may be requested during the selection process. Please do not submit this form unless requested.
