The Citizens' Police Academy is a highly successful program that offers community members
the opportunity to learn about their local police service and the legal system.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service presents two programs per year-one in the spring and one in the fall. Every Thursday evening for 12 weeks, police members and our community partners share their knowledge and experiences with participants in a comfortable classroom environment at police headquarters.
Classes are interactive and include popular topics such as crime trends, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, fraud, forensics, emergency response and police training, coupled with engaging discussions by local judges, attorneys and professors.
Registration forms and course information are available at the front desk of any Waterloo Regional Police Service location or download: Citizens' Police Academy Registration
Course size is limited to 40 participants and we encourage people to register early.
