To provide PRIDE users with guidance and first and second level support by assisting in problem resolution; to act as the key contact for on-site and remote users for terminal and production problems and inquires; to receive requests, prioritize requests, assign requests to appropriate IT personnel and follow-up to ensure requests have been dealt with in a timely manner.
To assist with and understand the PRIDE Network infrastructure consisting of network servers, hubs, cabling, switches, routers, modems, printers and other communications equipment which collectively provide a seamless connection and access to the PRIDE Intranet, RMS, software and file systems between all users in all Police Service offices and facilities as well as external networks such as the Internet and dial up users; to implement, configure, coordinate, control, maintain, support, monitor usage and ensure security of the network
To take a project management coordinator role in the analysis, planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of database and project solutions for the integrated solutions including the Police Regionalized Information Data Entry (PRIDE) group (Brantford, Guelph, Stratford, and Waterloo Regional Police Services). To plan systems changes, enhancements and training, with the major objective of improving business efficiency, information quality, timely and appropriate availability of information, and rules-based system interaction. Supervises the Programmer Analyst and the PRIDE IT Micro Computer Programmer.
To develop, implement and evaluate communication and public relations strategies and programs designed to inform members and the general public of organizational initiatives and policies. This includes drafting news releases, developing background information, and coordinating briefings to media representatives; promoting the image of WRPS and the service’s community mobilization philosophy; monitoring electronic and print media coverage of issues impacting policing and of the service’s activities; and advising service staff on media and public relations.
To provide reception, telephone and clerical support to all job functions within the Records Services Branch, including entering and updating information on local and national police records management systems, and responding to requests for information.
To prepare and facilitate the distribution of collision reports to participating insurance companies, non-participating insurance companies and parties with interest. To assist reporting drivers with the initiation of an insurance claim after a collision report is filed with police.
To read occurrence reports and assign Statistics Canada Uniform Crime Reporting coding; to assign in-house coding; and to prepare statistics and reports.
