QUEENS BLVD, KITCHENER
At 5:54 pm on Sept 2, 2010 Kitchener Fire Department and Waterloo Regional Police responded to a residential house fire at 827 Queens Blvd in the city of Kitchener.

The fire was contained to the rear porch section of the home and extinguished without difficulty. The cause of the fire was undetermined and was deemed unsuspicious. The fire started in a roof eavestrough during a heavy thunderstorm but cannot be conclusively linked to a lightning strike at this time. Damage is estimated at $5000.

The home owners were not present at the time of the incident and were later contacted.

CEDAR ST S, KITCHENER
On the 1st of September 2010 at 11:45pm, an unknown suspect(s) set fire to the recycling dumpster in the parking lot across from 124 Cedar Street South, Kitchener.

Kitchener Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. Damage was contained to the dumpster and estimated to be $400.

FREDERICK STREET, KITCHENER
During the month of August, Patrol officers at Division #1 Kitchener and Division #1A in New Hamburg conducted a traffic initiative targeting distracted drivers.

Police conducted the intiative as a part of an ongoing program of education and enforcement to ensure the highest level of safety for all road users.

Police laid 86 charges under the Highway Traffic Act for Driving while using a Handheld Communication Device. The fine for the offence is$155.

As we approach the long weekend and back to school on Tuesday, Police continue to urge all road users to remain alert and focused on their task and their surroundings while making their safety and the safety of others their top priority.

KING ST W, CAMBRIDGE
On the 2nd of September, 2010 at approximately 1040pm, Regional police responded to a reported robbery at Riverside Park at King St W, in the City of Cambridge.

A 25 year old male was jogging in the park when a lone male approached pulling a knife.

A physical altercation ensued and the victim received a small puncture wound. The victim was transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police searched the area with the assistance of a police K9 unit however the suspect was not located.

Suspect is described as a white male, 5'9-5'11, wearing a black zip-up hooded sweater with a skull logo on the front and light colored shorts with white shoes.

ATLANTIC BLVD, WATERLOO
On August 30, 2010 at approximately 5:38pm, police responded to a residence in Waterloo in connection with a complaint of a domestic dispute.

An adult male received minor injuries during the incident not requiring medical treatment.

A short time later, an adult female was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

As a result of further investigation, police became aware of information regarding a previous relationship involving the male victim and the accused female between 2004 and 2005 while the male was a teacher and the female was a student at Waterloo Collegiate Institute.

On September 2nd, 2010, the male was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Sexual Exploitation. The charges stem from an inappropriate relationship involving the female while she was under the age of 18 years.

The male was held in custody for a court appearance on September 3, 2010.

Through investigation, police have identified and charged a 14 year old Kitchener male with Arson and Breaching his Probation. The public is still encouraged to contact Police if they have information regarding this incident.
