Type : Robbery
OTTAWA ST S, KITCHENER
On Sunday May 19, 2013 at approximately 1:43 pm, a 37 year old male Kitchener resident was apprehended for shoplifting at a Zehrs store at 750 Ottawa St S in Kitchener by store security.
During the arrest the accused pulled out a weapon, and escaped. Waterloo Regional Police officers located the accused and he was arrested a short distance away. There were no injuries sustained as a result of the incident and the stolen property was recovered.
The male was held for a bail hearing charged with Robbery,Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Assault with a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Escape Lawful Custody.

FOUNTAIN ST N, BRESLAU
On May 18th 2013, the Waterloo Regional Police and EMS responded to the Regional of Waterloo International Airport at 4881 Fountain St in Breslau, regarding a small, two-person plane a Cessna 172RG, preparing to land but the pilot was unable to deploy a portion of the aircraft's landing gear.
At approximately 04:30pm, the plane landed successfully without its complete landing gear deployed and there were no injuries as a result. There was minor damage to the underbelly of the plane. There was no damage to the airstrip or structures in the area.

MAIN ST, CAMBRIDGE
On May 17, 2013, members of the Waterloo Regional Police South Division CORE team arrested two males relating to a drug investigation in a downtown parking lot off of Water Street South in the city of Cambridge. Seized was approximately $520 worth of Heroin.
A 58 year old male Cambridge resident was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Heroin. The second male, a 21 year old, also of Cambridge was charged with Possession of a Substance in Schedule 1 being Heroin. Both were released with court dates in June.

COLUMBIA ST W, WATERLOO
On Sunday May 19, 2013 at approximately 8:30 pm a fire occurred behind the Sobey's building at 450 Columbia St. W. in the city of Waterloo. Waterloo fire department attended and extinguished the fire and only cosmetic damage occurred from the blaze in the form of black marks on a brick wall and some guard posts. Waterloo fire department deemed that the fire was deliberately started using the cardboard behind the building.

WEBER ST W, KITCHENER
On May 17, 2013 Waterloo Regional Police attended the area of Weber Street West and Wellington Street North in the city of Kitchener regarding an incident of property damage.
It was learned that sometime between May 10 and May 14, 2013 a piece of industrial equipment parked in the area had been vandalized.
This area is part of the Weber Street West reconstruction which is currently in the stage of demolishing numerous homes.
The damage is estimated to be between $8000-13000.

MELRAN DR, CAMBRIDGE
During the overnight hours of May 19, 2013 to the morning hours of May 20, 2013 unknown suspects attended 13 addresses along Melran and Adler Dr in the Hespeler area of Cambridge. The suspects then used an unknown object to damage 18 motor vehicles parked in residential driveways along these streets causing significant scratches.

Residents in the area are encouraged to check any surveillance equipment in an attempt to identify the suspect individuals.

Type : Drugs
LORRAINE AVE, KITCHENER
On Friday May 17, 2013 at 8:45pm, Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Lorraine Ave, in the city of Kitchener regarding a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle was located and the investigation conducted by police led to the arrest of a 27 year old Kitchener male for charges contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A quantity of crack cocaine and marihuana was seized as well as other offence-related property at the scene of the arrest.
The investigation led police to execute a search warrant at a commercial unit on McIntyre Drive in Kitchener where a marihuana grow operation was located. The total value of drugs and related property seized is estimated at approximately $100 000.00
The accused was held for a show cause hearing for multiple drug-related offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking and production of marihuana.
