Auxiliary members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service have partnered with the Knights of Columbus in support of the New Toys for Needy Kids Toy Drive. Auxiliary police will visit six different retail locations throughout the Region where shoppers can purchase toys for children and donate them by placing them inside the police car.

Waterloo Regional Police are proactively alerting the community to a credit card security scam.

A victim receives a phone call from a person claiming to work in the Security and Fraud Department of the victim's credit card issuer. The caller has the victim's name and credit card number and will state that there has been an unusual purchase pattern on the card, often in another country and that the credit card company will be assuming that charge, and crediting the victim's account.

Waterloo Region, ON – In April 2011, Waterloo Regional Police commenced an investigation into an on-duty incident that led to criminal charges being laid against Waterloo Regional Police Constable Christopher Knox, a four and a half year member.

On Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 5:24 a.m. a lone male operating a grey Dodge Magnum drove through the front entrance of Waterloo Regional Police Service headquarters, located at 200 Maple Grove Road in Cambridge. The vehicle travelled approximately 30 meters within the confines of the lobby and came to rest alongside the reception area of the Records Branch.

On October 6, 2011, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Crime Management Teams from the North and Central Divisions executed three criminal code search warrants at two storage facilities in the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo.

Detectives seized approximately $50,000 worth of property and are attempting to identify the rightful owners of the recovered property.

Photographs of the recovered property are available for viewing below.  Detectives are asking victims of break and enters or thefts view the photographs in attempt to identify their property.

SAGINAW PKY, CAMBRIDGE
On November 1, 2011 about 6 am, members of Waterloo Regional Police Service and Cambridge Fire Department attended 520 Saginaw Parkway, Mother Theresa Catholic School, for a report of fire.

Upon arrival, a portable located in the rear of the school was found to be on fire. The fire and was put out by members of Cambridge Fire Department.
