At approximately 8:38 p.m, Waterloo Regional Police were called to respond to a single motor vehicle collision on Doon South Drive between Homer Watson.

WILSON AVE , KITCHENER
On February 24, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. police responded to an apartment complex on Wilson Avenue for a report of a robbery with a weapon.

The building was searched for suspects. One male youth was taken into custody and police are actively investigating.

Incident # 12-043280    Type : Assault    
KING ST E, KITCHENER
On February 23, 2012 at approximately 11:45 am a Kitchener youth was approached by a group and assaulted in the area of the Kitchener Farmers Market.

Several youths fled the area having covered their faces during the assault.

As a result of investigation, three Kitchener youths were arrested and face multiple criminal charges.

Incident # 12-042047    Type : Traffic Stop    
SOUTHILL DR, KITCHENER
On February 21st, 2012 the Waterloo Regional Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along Southill Dr. in the City of Kitchener.

Both the driver and the passenger were arrested. During a subsequent search, police seized a large amount of cash along with a small quantity of drugs.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On Monday February 20, 2012, emergency services responded to Perkell Place in Kitchener and found a deceased male inside a residence.

The initial investigation of the scene caused concern for police and the Coroner’s office.  In turn, Homicide investigators became involved to look further into the circumstances of the incident.

Incident # 12-041565    Type : Proactive Initiative/Enforcement    
CONCESSION ST, CAMBRIDGE ON
On February 21, 2012, police conducted a proactive road safety enforcement initiative in Cambridge.

Just before 11am, officers stopped a vehicle on Concession Street to check on the sobriety of the driver. As a result, the driver was arrested at the scene and held for evaluation by a qualified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.

Missing person Raina RISHIRAJ, 13 years of age, of Kitchener has been located unharmed.  Investigators thank media and the community for their assistance.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are currently investigating numerous incidents in which young victims were approached by groups and robbed of their personal electronic devices and other valuables.  

Police crime analysis has revealed that incidents of this type tend to escalate during school breaks and holidays.  In addition, investigation has revealed that some robberies occurred after the location of house parties and social gatherings were posted on social media.
