Incident # 12-189466 Type : Dangerous Condition
DOVER ST AT BEAVER ST, CAMBRIDGE ON CANADA (AREA: WS
On Monday, August 13, 2012 at 5:06pm CFD and Police were notified about a possible gas leak at the corner of Dover St S. and Beaver St in Cambridge.
Upon arrival, it was determined a concrete excavator had made contact with an underground gas line. Natural gas was leaking from the damaged valve while Union Gas responded to conduct repairs.
Houses were evacuated in a 1 block radius of the leak and barricades set up.
At approximately 6:10pm, Dover St was reopened to traffic.There were no injuries and the extent of the damage is not as yet fully determined.

VICTORIA ST S,
On August 13, 2012, police arrrested a 41 year old Kitchener man was arrested for sexual assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and breach of probation.
The offences involve female teens and allegedly occurred earlier this year.

LAUSANNE CRESCENT, EASTERN INTERSECTION WATERLOO ON CANADA (AREA: WN
On Tuesday August 14, 2012 Police responded to to the area of Brandenburg Boulevard and Erbsville Road in Waterloo, regarding a report of three males who were attempting to break into vehicles.
On arrival police located the three males. A 17 year old Kitchener male and two 19 year old Waterloo males were arrested and charged for theft, possession of stolen property and possession of prohibited weapons.

Incident # 12-185803 Type : Fire
THORNHILL PL, WATERLOO
On August 9, 2012 The Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Waterloo Fire Rescue responded to a fire at 311 Thornhill Place in Waterloo.
Two houses currently under construction received major damage and a third residence received smoke and water damage. There were no injuries involved with this occurrence.
The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been called in to investigate and the Waterloo Regional Police along with the Waterloo Fire Rescue will be working together in order to determine the cause and nature of the fire.
The fire is being treated as suspicious at this time.
Members of the public who observed any suspicious activity late August 8, 2012 into the early morning hours of August 9, 2012 are encouraged to call police at 519 650 8500 ext. 3399.

THORNHILL PL, WATERLOO

On August 13th 2012, as a result of the continuing investigation and information received from the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office, this fire has been determined to have been deliberately started and is being investigated as a case of Arson. The fire originated in the vacant houses under constrution. Damage to the three homes is estimated at $800,000.
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing a criminal investigation into this fire and have received several tips from the public. Police are appealing to the public for further assistance, and ask that anyone with information about this fire contact North Division Detectives at 519-650-8500 Ext 3334 or provide annonymous information to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
