Incident # 12-196610 Type : Search Warrant
KERR ST,
On Tuesday August 21, 2012, Waterloo Regional Police South Division Crime Management Team in partnership with members of the Strategic and Tactical Services Drug Branch, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Kerr Street in Cambridge.
Five people were arrested and subsequently charged. Approximately 9 grams of heroin, 1.79 grams of marihuana and a quantity of cash were seized.
A 48 year old Cambridge female was charged with two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation. Three Cambridge males, all 32 years of age, were charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. A 42 year old Cambridge male was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation.
All were held for a show cause hearing.
On August 8, 2012, police conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Hilltop Drive in Cambridge. Investigators seized just under 22 grams of heroin. Two Cambridge residents were arrested in connection. A 26 year old male was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. A 22 year old female was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Both were held for show cause.
A 30 year old female was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 20, 2012.

Incident # 12-196700 Type : Motor Vehicle Collision
GUELPH ST, KITCHENER
On Wednesday August 22, 2012 at approximately 12:42am a vehicle driven by an unknown male was travelling on Guelph St. between Birch Ave. and Maple Avenue in Kitchener when it collided with a parked vehicle.
People in the area observed the male driver run from the scene. There was severe damage caused to the involved vehicles.

Incident # 12-196311 Type : Industrial Accident
UNIVERSITY AVE E, WATERLOO
On August 21, 2012, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a 27 year old worker was on the construction site located at 340 University Avenue East, Waterloo.
While working with a large concrete form, the worker fell 15 feet to the ground and the form fell on top of him.
Police, WFD and EMS attended the scene and tended to the worker. He was transported to GRH where he was treated for hip and leg injuries. The injuries are not life threatening.
The Ministry of Labour will continue to investigate the incident.
Incident # 12-195957 Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries
RIVERBANK DR, CAMBRIDGE ON CANADA (AREA: WS
Just after 8:00 am on Tuesday Aug 21st a collision between a cyclist and a motor vehicle occurred at Riverbank Dr and Middle Block Rd in Cambridge.
The intersection was closed for approx 2 hours as WRPS Traffic Branch officers conducted a collision reconstruction.
A 47 yr old cyclist from Cambridge was west bound on Middle Block Rd approaching a stop sign. A 33 yr old Cambridge female was north bound on Riverbank Dr with right of way intent on proceeding straight thru the intersection with Middle Block Rd ahead.
The cyclist turned left at the intersection and struck the northbound motor vehicle at the right front corner of the bumper.
The male was transported to an area hospital via ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not injured.
The bicycle was destroyed and the car received very significant damage.
The investigation is continuing and if any one has witnessed this collision they are encouraged to call WRPS 519 653 7700 using ext.8856. Charges are pending. Speed and alcohol are not factors in the incident.
