Incident # 12-162555 Type : Fire
X-STREET ERIN BROOK CRES AND ROCKWOOD RD, KITCHENER ON CANADA (AREA: WC
Thursday, July 12, 2012 at approximately 3:13 p.m., emergency services responded to the area of Erinbrook Crescent and Rockwood Road in the city of Kitchener for a brush fire. The fire was contained to a grassy hill and was extinguished without incident. The cause of the fire appeared to be suspicious.
The area was checked with negative results.
Police are currently looking for two males in connection with the incident. Suspect 1: Young male, brown longer shaggy hair, riding a small bike; 2nd Suspect: Young male, short blond hair, t-shirt and shorts.

Incident # 12-162075 Type : Offensive Weapons
OTTAWA ST S, KITCHENER
In the early morning hours of Thursday July 12, shopping center security made Police aware of a suspicious package situated in the parking lot at the Sunrise Shopping Center 1400 Ottawa St S Kitchener.
Police located two "draino bottle bombs". One had already detonated and had a debris field of approximately 10 ft. The second bottle had malfunctioned and was rendered safe.
There was no one seen in the area and its unknown how long the items had been there prior to police attending.
Police dealt with similar incidents back in April and warned the public of the dangers of "bottle bombs" after a 10 year old youth received serious facial injuries after the home-made device exploded, lodging plastic shrapnel into his face.
Police want the public to be aware that the making of these devices that explode and cause injury may lead to criminal charges such as Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm or Unlawfully Causing Bodily Harm.
These devices may be making a recurrence due to the Internet and social media. Police want to remind parents to be aware of the online activities of their children, and potential indicators that they are involved in this dangerous activity.
As a general precaution, police urge the public to avoid handling misshapen or bloated plastic bottles with unknown contents which could explode if moved or disturbed. Police should be contacted in these instances.

Incident # 12-162502 Type : Robbery
DOON VILLAGE RD, KITCHENER
On July 12, 2012 at approximately 2:15 PM, a lone male entered the Scotiabank at 601 Doon Village Road in the City of Kitchener.
The male made demands to the employees and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. It is believed that the male fled from the area, possibly in a dark coloured van.
At this time police are investigating the possibility that the incident is linked to an earlier robbery which occurred on May 14th at the same location.
The suspect in the latest incident is described as male white, approximately 5' 9" tall with a heavy build, wearing a red coloured t-shirt and light coloured shorts.

Incident # 12-163126 Type : Traffic Enforcement
DUMFRIES RD AT CEDAR CREEK RD, NORTH DUMFRIES ON CANADA (AREA: WRS
On Friday July 13, 2012, officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Services' Traffic Branch, CORE team and patrol conducted motorcycle safety inspections in the Township of North Dumfries.
A total of 275 motorcycles were checked. Most of the riders inspected were riding safely but 7 charges were laid including five improper helmets. Five motorcycles were taken out of service.
The Traffic Services Branch is committed to a leadership role in the promotion of traffic safety and traffic enforcement, in a community partnership to improve road safety and the quality of life for all people.

DOON VILLAGE RD, KITCHENER

Police have confirmed that a dye pack contained within the money activated while in the suspect's possession. The suspect and his clothing will likely be covered in red dye.
Police also believe that the suspect was driving a blue Pontiac Montana van or similar vehicle. Furthermore, the vehicle is believed to have family style stick figure stickers in the back window. The vehicle was last observed heading north on Manitou Drive.
