Incident # 12-172436    Type : Theft under 5000    
EDMUND RD, KITCHENER
Early Tuesday morning on July 24, 2012 police received a call from a resident about a male checking car doors in the area of Edmund Rd. and Jackson Ave in the city of Kitchener.

Police were able to locate an adult male in a motor vehicle in the area stealing money and other valuables.

An adult Kitchener male was held for a bail hearing and is facing numerous charges including theft under $5000 and possession under $5000 as well as breaching his probation and recognizance.

Police would like to remind people to ensure they lock their doors and keep valuables out of sight.

Incident # 12-172011    Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries    
MAPLE GROVE RD/SPEEDSVILLE RD, CAMBRIDGE ON CANADA (AREA: WS
On July 23, 2012 at approximately 5 pm a motor vehicle collision occurred within the intersection of Maple Grove Road and Speedsville Road in the city of Cambridge.

A lone male was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix west on Maple Grove Road while four people were in a Ford Fusion eastbound on Maple Grove Road.

Upon entering the intersection the Pontiac turned left onto Speedsville Road and was struck by the Ford.

Police, Fire and Ambulance arrived on scene. The driver of the Pontiac and all four persons in the Ford went to hospital. The driver of the Pontiac sustained non life threatening injuries. Three of those in the Ford sustained non life threatening injuries while the fourth was transported to Hamilton with injuries that were life threatening.

The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation. The investigation is still on going. Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Services at 519 650 8500 ext. 8856 or email traffic@wrps.on.ca

Incident # 12-171675    Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries    
KING ST. W./ANDREW ST., KITCHENER ON CANADA (AREA: WN
On Monday, July 23, 2012 at approximately 10:53 am a 76 yr. old Kitchener woman was crossing King St. W. near Andrew St.. At this time, two north vehicles and one southbound vehicle stopped to allow her to cross.

A southbound Mercedes Benz driven by a 23 yr. old Markham, Ontario man in the curb lane struck the pedestrian as she crossed the southbound curb lane.

She was not crossing at a marked pedestrian crossover or intersection. The pedestrian was transported to Grand River Hospital in serious but stable condition.

She was later transferred to Hamilton General Hospital.The investigation is continuing.
