Incident # 12-147514    Type : Dog - Animal Complaint    
HOLBORN DR , KITCHENER
On June 25, 2012 at approximately 5:10 am, police responded to an address on Holborn Drive, in the city of Kitchener in regards to an incident of suspected animal cruelty inside a home.

A 25 year old Kitchener male has been arrested for allegedly beating a puppy and throwing a cat.

He has been charged with two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. The animals have been removed by the KW humane society.

The accused will appear in court at a later date.

Incident # 12-147009    Type : Assault    
KING ST. W AND GAUKEL ST., KITCHENER ON
Sunday June 24th, 2012, at approximately 12:55 p.m. a thirty-six year old male of no fixed address was assaulted by another male in the area of Halls Lane near Gaukel Street in Kitchener.

The victim sustained injuries to both legs when he was struck by a heavy metal object. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The unknown suspect and victim had met previously. Police are still seeking the identity of the suspect who is described as being a white male in his thirties, 6'2'' to 6'3'' inches in height with short red hair and a thin build.

Incident # 12-146279    Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries    
DUNDAS STREET AT FRANKLIN BOULEVARD CAMBRIDGE, CAMBRIDGE ON (AREA: WS
On June 23, 2012 at 4:29 pm Waterloo Regional Police were responding to a call for service.

While enroute a marked police vehicle collided with a white Chevrolet Cavalier in the intersection of Dundas St. S. and Franklin Blvd in the City of Cambridge.

The lone occupant of the Cavalier suffered minor injuries while the officer operating the cruiser was not injured.

This collision is currently under investigation by the Traffic Services Branch.

Incident # 12-145205    Type : Fire    
WATER ST N, CAMBRIDGE
On June 22, 2012 at 2:43 P.M., employees of Food Basics located at 95 Water St N Cambridge, phoned 911 after seeing smoke coming from the top of a food freezer. All customers and employees were evacuated from the store without incident. Employees turned off the power, and doused the flames with an extinguisher. Cambridge Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after, inspected, and cleared the store as safe. Damage is estimated at $1000. There is nothing suspicious in this incident.

Incident # 12-142086    Type : Theft under 5000    
KING ST W, CAMBRIDGE
With the arrival of summer, police have noticed an increase in the number of thefts from autos.

The trend of overnight thefts from unlocked vehicles has been compounded by a number of vehicles being broken into at parks, ball diamonds and trail heads.

Police would like to remind individuals to ensure their vehicles are locked when unattended and any items of value are removed.

If any suspicious individuals or activity is observed call police immediately at 519 653 7700. For a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1.

Incident # 12-143097    Type : Search Warrant    
BRITTANIA CRES, KITCHENER
On June 20, 2012, members of North Division Crime Management Team arrested a 39 year old Kitchener male for suspected illegal drug offences.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at a Brittania St. residence in Kitchener. Police seized cocaine with an estimated street value of $1200 as well as over $7000 in Canadian currency.

Minh PHAM was charged with two counts of Trafficking and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and held for show cause.

A 35 year old Kitchener female was also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released from custody to appear in court on a later date.
