Incident # 12-245177 Type : Theft under 5000

PURPLE SAGE CRES, KITCHENER
Waterloo Regional Police detectives are currently investigating thefts from two Kitchener residences. Both incidents occurred on October 13, 2012 while the homes were being shown to the public during a real estate open house.

Cash, jewelry and other valuables were taken. The homes are located on Grand River Boulevard and Purple Sage Crescent.

Police are appealing to the public for any information and urge potential sellers to work in conjunction with their listing agent to ensure a security plan has been established. As well, be sure to report any suspicious activity to police at once.

Incident # 12-250897 Type : Motor Vehicle Collision
HESPELER RD, CAMBRIDGE ON CANADA (AREA: WS
At about 1:00 pm on Tuesday Oct 23 2012 a collision occurred on Hespeler Rd at Langs Dr in Cambridge.

A Ford Winstar minivan, driven by a 20 yr old Cambridge male, was northbound on Hespeler Rd and turned left toward Langs Dr.

An International transport truck hauling a full sized unloaded trailer, driven by a 50 yr old Toronto male, was southbound on Hespeler Rd intending to travel straight through the intersection at Langs Drive, struck the minivan on the front right corner.

The van was pushed south and spun counter clockwise and came to rest in the northbound lanes of Hespeler Rd.

The transport truck jack-knifed in an attempt to brake and avoid the collision and hit a street utility pole. This collision resulted in the intersection being closed to all traffic for about 5 hours.

A specialized crew responded to clean up spilled diesel from a punctured fuel tank on the transport truck. The Ministry of the Environment was notified.

There were no injuries in this collision. Speed and alcohol are not factors. Investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
