Incident # 12-215865 Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries
ARTHUR ST S, WOOLWICH
On Wednesday September 12, 2012 a red pick-up driven by a Wellesley male was traveling northbound on Arthur Street north of Sawmill Road in the township of Woolwich. It crossed the centre line and struck a southbound transport truck.
The pick-up then rolled onto its side and struck another southbound car driven by a Kitchener female. The pick-up then rolled twice, coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.
Emergency services responded and the driver of the pickup truck was taken to Grand River Hospital with minor injuries. He was subsequently released form the hospital that evening.
The pick-up truck was demolished, as was the car that was involved. The trailer of the transport truck was towed from the scene with minor damage.
Neither speed or alcohol are believed to be factors in this collision. The fact that the driver of the pickup truck was wearing his seat belt, as well as the quick evasive actions of the transport truck driver kept this collision from being more serious than it was.
The investigation is continuing.
