Incident # 12-209080 Type : Assault
KING ST W, KITCHENER
On September 5th, 2012 at approximately 715am, police on patrol in downtown Kitchener initiated an investigation after observing two males acting suspiciously behind a business on King St. West.
Police learned that one of the males was wanted on an outstanding warrant. While attempting to arrest the male, the suspect fled on foot. The officer subdued the male. While continuing to arrest the suspect, both the officer and an independent witness who was assisting the officer, were assaulted.
A 24 year old Kitchener male was charged with Assault, Assault with intent to Resist Arrest, Assault Peace Officer, and escape lawful custody. He was held for a bail hearing.
Incident # 12-208628 Type : Motor Vehicle Collision - Injuries
OTTAWA STREET SOUTH AT PATTANDION AVE, SOUTHERN INTERSECTION KITCHENER ON CANADA (AREA: WC
At 4:36 pm, on Tuesday September 4, 2012, Police responded to a 4 vehicle collision on Ottawa Street South at Mill Street in the city of Kitchener.
A silver Honda operated by a 22 year old Kitchener man was making a left turn from Pattandon Avenue to Ottawa Street South. Another 22 year old Kitchener male was operating a silver Dodge Caravan northbound in the curb lane of Ottawa Street South.
The Honda clipped the rear of the Dodge causing it to go out of control striking a Ford truck and a Toyota car which were stopped for the traffic signal at Mill Street.
The Dodge then continued north striking a railway light stand and coming to rest.
The Ford truck was operated by a 48 year old Waterloo man and his passenger was a 48 year old male from Grand Prairie Alberta.
Both occupants of the Ford were taken to hospital by Waterloo Region Emergency Services with minor injuries as a precaution.
The Toyota was operated by a 44 year old Kitchener woman with her 9 year old son. Neither occupant of the Toyota was injured.
