Incident # 12-209325    Type : Offensive Weapons    
CONWAY DR, KITCHENER
On September 5, 2012 at 12 p.m. Waterloo Regional Police responded to Conway Drive in the City of Kitchener for a firearms related call. Conway Drive was closed off for a brief period of time while police investigated the matter. Investigation revealed that no threat to public safety existed and Conway Drive was re-opened.

Incident # 12-207961    Type : Robbery    
MAIN ST, CAMBRIDGE
On September 3, 2012 at approximately 8:30pm, a 57 year old Cambridge female was at an ATM at Main and Water Street in Cambridge when she was approached by an unknown male.

The male solicited her to deposit a cheque for him and after she had entered her information, the suspect forcibly took control of the ATM and withdrew an undisclosed amount of money.

Two passerbys intervened and the suspect fled the area on a bicycle. There were no injuries in the incident.

The suspect is described as male, White, dark hair and goatee, 25-30, 5"10 with a medium build, wearing black T-shirt, black shorts and black skate style shoes. He may have tattoos on his upper left arm and right forearm. He fled on a dark coloured bicycle.

During the evening hours of September 4, 2012 police received complaints of a male attempting to get passing people to cash a cheque for him using their ATM cards. The male was last seen in the area of Main and Dundas in the City of Cambridge. A 42 yr old male of no fixed address was located and arrested for Attempt Fraud, and was positively identified as the male involved in this robbery.

The male faces charges of Robbery, Uttering Threats x2, Attempt Fraud x2. He is being held for a showcause hearing.

MAIN ST, CAMBRIDGE

On September 4, 2012 Waterloo Regional Police arrested Gerald William BUDD, 43 years. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

BUDD is charged with Robbery, Uttering Threats x2, Attempt Fraud x2 in connection with several fraud related offences targeting older or elderly persons. It is believed that he has targeted multiple persons over the last week and that there may be outstanding victims.
