Waterloo Region ON – An extensive investigation by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Fraud Branch has led to the arrest of a Collingwood, Ontario man.
Police have charged Daniel P. Reeve, 52 years, with Defrauding the Public and Theft over $5000, both offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Police are investigating complaints that Reeve, acting as a Financial Advisor, convinced up to 175 potential victims to contribute to private and public investments.
As a result of the continuing investigation, detectives allege that Reeve misrepresented the investments and misappropriated the money.
The alleged offences occurred between 2006 to 2009 and involved total losses estimated at $30 million.
Reeve is appearing in provincial court in Kitchener today in courtroom #105 to answer to the charges.
