Police investigate cyclist fatality in Wellesley Township- UPDATE

Waterloo Region, Ontario –On Monday June 25, 2012 Waterloo Regional Police charged a 31 year old St. Clements man in connection with a fatal collision on Herrgott Road in the Township of Wellesley.
 
Dale Wideman, the driver of a 2007 Lincoln, is charged with Careless Driving.
 
On May 6, 2012, at approximately 3:50 p.m. two cyclists were southbound on Herrgott Road when one was struck from behind by the Lincoln.
 
Barrie CONROD, 52 years, of the city of Waterloo,sustained life threatening head injuries and died at the scene. Mr. Conrod was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
 
Neither the other cyclist nor the driver was injured.
 
Mr. Wideman is scheduled for a court appearance on August 27, 2012.
