Waterloo Region, ON – Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a fatal incident in the city of Waterloo involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle.
On Thursday October 25 2012, at approximately 5:38 pm, a 23 year old Waterloo male driving a silver Volvo, was traveling southbound on King Street South. As the driver approached the intersection at Willis Way, a pedestrian attempting to cross eastbound over King Street stepped into the path of the Volvo and was struck.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services with severe head injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Police have been able to contact the victim’s family in Germany and are now able to identify her as Amelie LIMBERGER, 23 years.
At this time police do not believe speed or alcohol to be contributing factors in the collision. Further investigation is being conducted.
