Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is pleased to once again “open its doors” to the community during an Open House event to celebrate the kick-off to Police Week.
The Police Week theme this year is “Working Together for Safer Communities,” which acknowledges the collaborative approach required towards making our communities safe and healthy.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Waterloo Region and Mac’s Convenience Stores, are calling on the community to help take part in an exciting new project entitled StreetART at Mac’s.

This project, to be completed in June, is an opportunity for police to work alongside youth in our community to build positive relationships while helping prevent crime.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service Major Crime unit is investigating an incident that occurred in the Country Hill Drive area, in Kitchener at approximately 3 a.m. this morning.

Police responded and located a deceased 22 year old female in her residence. The death is deemed suspicious.

There will be an increased police presence in the area of Country Hill Drive, Kitchener.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Waterloo Regional Police at 519-653-7700 ext. 8666 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to welcome members of Recruit Class #93 to its ranks at a special badging ceremony to be held in partnership with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

Ten new Constables have recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in and receive their police badges during the ceremony, scheduled to take place Friday, April 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. David High School in Waterloo.

It is with deep regret that the Waterloo Regional Police Service announces the passing of Police Service Dog Titan, following a sudden illness. 
 
Titan, who became a member of the Service in May of 2015, was a 3.5 year old German Shepherd who loved his job and adored his handler. For the past two years, Titan and his handler have worked tirelessly together to train, perform demonstrations, and have enjoyed 18 successful captures.  Just recently, Titan located a suspect in the Fairview Park area who was armed with a knife.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Cambridge on November 26, 2016. Joseph Robert Paul Lalonde, 49, (known as Paul Lalonde) from Cambridge, was walking southbound across Cedar Street when he was struck by a full-sized, white Ford pickup truck.
