Waterloo Regional Police Investigate Several Residential Break and Enters

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter and Auto Theft (BEAT) team are investigating several overnight residential break and enters that have occurred throughout the region while homeowners were asleep.

Between November 16, 2016 and January 29, 2017, at least six homes were entered in Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo. In each incident, the suspect entered through an unlocked entry way. Once inside, the suspect stole debit and credit cards, cash, electronics and personal belongings. The suspect then used the stolen cards at nearby convenience stores or banks to purchase items or withdraw money.

Police believe these six incidents are connected.

No one was injured in any of the break and enters.

Waterloo Regional Police are releasing surveillance video and pictures of a man they would like to identify in connection to the break and enters.

Waterloo Regional Police would also like to remind homeowners to lock their windows and doors, including garage doors, when they go to bed at night or when not at home. If you hear someone inside your home, call 911 immediately and do not confront the intruder.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact police at 519-650-8500 ext. 8292 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
