Waterloo Regional Police Launches Open House to Kick-Off Police Week 2017

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is pleased to once again “open its doors” to the community during an Open House event to celebrate the kick-off to Police Week.
The Police Week theme this year is “Working Together for Safer Communities,” which acknowledges the collaborative approach required towards making our communities safe and healthy.
“Police Week is about celebrating policing and the work our officers do to ensure the safety of everyone in our Region,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “But, it’s also about recognizing the role the community plays in keeping our Region safe as well. The Open House is a chance for all of us to come together to celebrate that positive relationship in a fun-filled, family-friendly day.”
Everyone is welcome to attend Waterloo Regional Police Service Headquarters on Saturday, May 13, 2017 (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) at 200 Maple Grove Road in Cambridge. There will be a variety of activities and events including:
• Live music
• Demonstrations and displays from the Emergency Response Unit and the Traffic Motorcycle Unit
• Unique photo opportunities
• Displays and information booths
• Wasteco shredding truck
• Charity BBQ
• Pedal Cars, Balloon Twisting Clown, Puppet Show, Jack the Nimble Bus, Pony Rides, Climbing Wall, Bouncy Castle and Face Painting
