In order for us to release or confirm confidential information regarding a person’s criminal record, or lack thereof, we require sufficient proper identification to verify a person’s identity.
What if I don’t have sufficient identification? For the purposes of obtaining a criminal records check, your alternative is to submit your fingerprints to the R.C.M.P. who will either issue you a certificate stating you have no record, or provide a copy of the record if one exists. This will take approximately five months. The Waterloo Regional Police Service charges a $30.00 fee for fingerprinting. The R.C.M.P. also charges a fee for this service, go to Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services for more information. For the purposes of obtaining a police records check for the service with the vulnerable sector, your alternative is to submit your fingerprints to the R.C.M.P. who will either issue you a certificate stating you have no record, or provide a copy of the record if one exists. You can then return your certificate to the Waterloo Regional Police Service so we may proceed to issue you the records check. This will take approximately five months.
