Waterloo Regional Police Central Division detectives continue to investigate an attempted robbery in Kitchener and are releasing the attached composite image to assist the investigation.
Synopsis:
On the 19th of August, 2012 at approximately 11:40 p.m., a motorist was travelling north on Sydney St near Nyberg St in Kitchener when a male stepped in front of her vehicle forcing her to come to a sudden stop.
The driver initially believed the male as in need of assistance. The male approached the car and reached in through the open window, grabbing hold of the driver's shirt sleeve. The male demanded the vehicle, at which time the driver sped off.
The male was last seen running towards Rockway Golf Course. Officers assisted by police canine searched the area with negative results.
The male suspect is described as White, approximately 39 years of age, 5'9", thin build, dirty blonde hair, balding at the front, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with an unknown company name and logo and the word FLOORING in black lettering or a logo on the front, baggy blue jeans and dark shoes.
The suspect may have injured his arm during the incident.
