Waterloo Regional Police Investigators recognized for excellence

Officers receive award from Jewellers Vigilance Canada

A team of Waterloo Regional Police detectives has received the Law Enforcement Appreciation Award presented by John Lamont of Jewellers Vigilance Canada.

The officers were awarded to recognize excellence during their investigation into unusally violent jewelery store robberies in Kitchener and Guelph in 2010/2011. The investigation resulted in multiple arrests and over 70 criminal charges being laid.

The award was presented at the June 5, 2012 meeting of the Police Services Board.  Pictured left to right are Constables James Mitchell, Adam Stover, Ian Labelle, Kyle Lambert, Sergeant William Fisher, Staff Sergeant Frank Sinko and Superintendent Adrian Darmon.  Also receiving the award was Constable Carl Bernard (not pictured).
