The Waterloo Regional Police Service Auxiliary Unit is comprised of approximately 75 members from our community. These volunteers assist our Police Service with numerous events, parades and community programs.
After completing a minimum of 50 hours of training, these volunteers are assigned to a divisional unit where they volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per month to our community. Some of the events and community programs that they assist with include the Elmira’s Maple Syrup Festival, Wellesley’s Apple Butter & Cheese Festival, Canada Day celebrations and numerous Santa Claus Parades, just to name a few.

Please Note: Your current employment will be assessed for potential conflicts of interest. The Private Investigators & Security Guards Section, Ministry of Public Safety & Security may not approve appointments as auxiliary members if you are employed as a loss prevention officers/security guard with a private company. The Ministry will not approve appointments if you are licensed as a private investigator or security guard.
