2009-2011 Strategic Business Plan
The Waterloo Regional Police Service Vision Inspired and Values Driven 2009 – 2011 Strategic Business Plan is the fourth edition of our long term planning processes. The first officially recognized plan, Waterloo Regional Police Service Strategic Plan 1995-1999 was innovative for its time and brought together results of a comprehensive review of the Service.
In 2001, the Province of Ontario introduced the Adequacy and Effectiveness Regulation which legislated that all Police Service Boards in Ontario to prepare a business plan every three years. The Waterloo Regional Police Service has since published two other business planning documents that addressed the specific requirements of the Adequacy Standards detailed in Section 30 of the Ontario Police Services Act.
2007 Citizen Survey
In May 2007, the Waterloo Regional Police Service conducted the 2007 Citizen Survey
to assess success indicators and performance measurements for the 2004-2007 Corporate
Business Plan. The Citizen Survey results, along with the Victims’ Survey, and an Internal Scan, will provide framework for strategic planning with the goal of improving safety and quality of life for all people. Thank you to all citizens of Waterloo Region who responded to the 2007 Citizen Survey.
