Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate Homicide - Seek Community Assistance

For Immediate Release:  July 13, 2018

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit continues to actively investigate the death of Ronald Chandler, 66, that occurred in Kitchener on Monday, June 18, 2018.

Police responded to a residence, located at 926 Courtland Avenue East, at approximately 8:45 p.m., for a report of an injured male. This death is considered a homicide as a result of stab wounds.

During the course of the investigation, police released an image captured on nearby surveillance video. Despite a large amount of information from the community, this male has yet to be identified. The images were captured at the intersection of Walton Avenue and Courtland Avenue East at approximately 8:00 p.m., on June 18th.

He is described as white, late 20’s to early 30’s with a thin build and short, light coloured hair. He was wearing a black backpack and carrying a guitar. We ask that if you observe this male, please call 911 and do not approach him.

The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or suspicious people to police immediately at 519-570-9777.
