Waterloo Regional Police Welcome Six New Officers

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to welcome members of Recruit Class #96 to its ranks at a special badging ceremony to be held at the KidsAbility Centre for Child Development in Waterloo on Friday, April 20, 2018.

Six new Constables have recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in and receive their police badges during the ceremony.

“We are excited to be presenting our newest officers to the community during this special ceremony at KidsAbility,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “Each of these new officers bring a wealth of experience and skills to our service and are eager to begin their policing journey to serve the residents of Waterloo Region.”

Prior to joining the police service, the new members studied in a variety of fields, including Criminal Psychology and Behaviour, Agricultural Science, Criminal Justice and Public Policy, Criminology, Psychology, and Massage Therapy. As well, the officers bring a large range of interests and experience in leadership and volunteer roles in community agencies and activities.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will include members of our Senior Administration, Police Services Board, the Ontario Court of Justice, as well as volunteers, family and friends.
