Posted on Friday December 15, 2017

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to welcome members of Recruit Class #95 to its ranks at a special badging ceremony to be held at the Cambridge Armoury on December 15, 2017.

Seven new Constables have recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in and receive their police badges during the ceremony.

“Each of these new officers bring unique backgrounds, experience and skills to our Service,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “They have all demonstrated their ability to work as a team towards a common goal – to serve the residents of Waterloo Region and keep our community safe. We are excited to have them join the Waterloo Regional Police Service family.”

Prior to joining the police service, the new members studied in a variety of fields including Criminology, Psychology Neuroscience and Behaviour, English Rhetoric and Professional Writing, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Nutrition and Fitness, and Leisure and Sports Studies. As well, the officers bring a large range of interests and experience in leadership and volunteer roles in community agencies and activities.

A special addition to the ceremony will be the appearance of our newest canine, who joined the Waterloo Regional Police Service in May, 2017 and completed his General Service Dog course in September, 2017.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will include members of our Senior Administration, Police Services Board, the Ontario Court of Justice, as well as volunteers, family and friends.
