Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate Homicide in Cambridge

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Cambridge on January 31, 2019.

Police responded to a residence on Southwood Drive in Cambridge around 6:25 a.m. for a report of an injured male. Upon arrival, police located a male suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Kurt McKechnie, 56, from Cambridge.

A post-mortem examination has determined that Mr. McKechnie died from gunshot wounds.  

Four people were seen leaving the area at the time of the incident.

Police believe the victim and the suspects are known to each other and that this is a targeted incident.
