Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Kitchener at approximately 11:15 a.m. September 20, 2018.

Police responded to a parking lot in the area of Pandora Avenue and King Street in Kitchener after receiving several 9-1-1 calls involving a shooting.

Upon arrival, an adult male was discovered deceased. Witnesses reported seeing two individuals fleeing the area in what is believed to be a white, four-door Mercedes car. The suspects were wearing dark clothing.

It’s believed this is a targeted incident.

The suspect vehicle left the area eastbound on Highway 401. The vehicle briefly left Highway 401 at Highway 6 South, travelled a short distance and then reversed its direction to return to the eastbound lanes of Highway 401. At this time, a police vehicle collided with a pick-up truck, causing minor injuries to the officer and the driver of the truck.

The suspect vehicle was last seen near Highway 401 in the Erin Mills area.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit, General Detectives and Forensic Identification officers are currently investigating. There will be an increased police presence in the area of Pandora Avenue and King Street as the investigation continues.
