Waterloo Regional Police investigating over night homicide  

For Immediate Release:  April 15, 2018

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the death of a 22 year old Kitchener male which occurred during the early morning hours on Kenora Avenue, Kitchener.

Police responded to an altercation outside a residence at 12:05 a.m., and discovered a male suffering from an alleged stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

A 22 Kitchener male has been arrested however, the investigation continues into the circumstances. 

Members from Major Crime, Forensic Identification and General Investigations will be in the area of Kenora Avenue for most of the day. Kenora Avenue is closed between the entrances of Parkview Crescent.

Initial investigation would suggest this is a targeted attack and the two individuals were known to each other. There is no risk to public safety.

Investigators are attempting to contact next of kin at this time.

The arrested male has not appeared before a Justice and therefore his identity can not be released.
