Waterloo Regional Police to Host Women-Focused Police Constable Recruitment Program

Posted on Thursday March 08, 2018

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  The Waterloo Regional Police Service will host a Women-Focused Police Constable Recruitment Program on March 21, 2018 and is inviting candidates to participate.

The program consists of an all-female panel presentation representing all ranks, a roundtable open discussion, a simulated physical readiness test, and a chance to participate in a Ride-Along. The program is designed to give potential female applicants an in-depth and detailed look into policing and will provide an opportunity to hear directly from those in the field.

“We want to ensure our service is reflective of the community we serve,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “This is a great chance for us to engage potential new officers while providing them an opportunity to ask questions and get to know more about the Waterloo Regional Police Service.”

Applications for The Women-Focused Police Constable Recruitment Program are available at www.wrps.on.ca/womenfocusedrecruitment.

The program is one of several phases of our recruitment strategy – LOVE What You Do. The goal is to attract diverse applicants who will bring a variety of skills, backgrounds and abilities to the role of policing.
