Waterloo Regional Police Release Images of Vehicle in Connection to Fatal Shooting

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Cambridge on April 17, 2019.

Police responded to an area on King Street East, near Church Street North and Westminster Drive North, at approximately 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police located a female suffering from serious injuries. Helen Schaller, 58, of Cambridge, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased as a result of gunshot wounds.

Waterloo Regional Police are looking for information in connection to a red Honda Fit vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The vehicle was last seen heading towards Guelph. Police are also looking for information on anyone associated to the vehicle. Of interest, is a male described as white, 20 to 40 years old, with a slim build and a shaved or bald head.

Anyone who observes this vehicle or the male is asked to not approach, but to call 9-1-1 immediately.

The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or suspicious individuals to police.
