On October 9, 2019, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a male in the area of King Street North and University Avenue East in Waterloo in relation to an incident, which occurred on October 3, 2019, on a Grand River Transit bus. The male was also charged in connection to a separate incident, which occurred on October 7, 2019, in Waterloo. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male has been charged with several criminal offences, including Sexual Assault, Criminal Harassment and Indecent Act. The investigation is ongoing. Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Special Victims Unit continue to investigate a report of a sexual assault, which occurred on October 3, 2019, at approximately 11:15 a.m., in the area of King Street North and University Avenue West in Waterloo. A female victim reported that she was on a Grand River Transit bus when a male suspect got on the bus and sat beside her. The suspect engaged the female in conversation before sexually assaulting her. The victim moved away from the male and got off the bus. There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident. The male is described as black, tall, with a medium build and had an accent. The investigation is ongoing.
