Community Cruiser Designs

We are proud to present a series of newly developed police vehicles that depict and celebrate the diversity in our community. These wraps were created using input from census data, events in the community our members have attended, and in consult with equity, inclusion, and diversity specialists both inside our service and in our community. Used as an opportunity to engage, connect, and educate, these vehicles come with QR codes that our community members can scan which will provide more insight into the diversity portrayed on that vehicle, as well as the others in the series. Four unique cruisers will be introduced in 2021.

Police cruiser 7537 is the first in our diversity design series. It captures the spirit of Canadian newcomers and African, Caribbean, South Asian and Arabic cultures. This cruiser prominently features a woman wearing a Gele (traditional Nigerian head wrap), a Sikh man, and a Muslim man and woman. You will also notice a person holding a Canadian flag and a child learning about Canada. Prominently featured is also the Lion and the African baobab tree. The lion is the emblem for royalty, strength, pride, wisdom, authority, courage and protection. The majestic baobab tree is an icon of the African continent and lies at the heart of many traditional African remedies and faith-based practices. If you look closely, you will also notice several other subtle symbols:
