Deputy Chief - Neighbourhood Policing & Investigations

Deputy Hilton smiling in uniformDeputy Chief Shirley Hilton is a 30-year-member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service.  Most recently, she served as the Superintendent of Central Division. Throughout her career, she has served in a number of different positions, including Frontline Patrol, General Investigations, Homicide, Drug Enforcement, and Professional Standards. Her passion for mentoring and succession management has led to her helping create a Women in Leadership committee and annual forum. It has also led to her helping develop a Professional Development Network that acts as a formal career mentorship program for members within the Service.  She served as Acting Deputy Chief from January 2019 to June 2019.

Deputy Chief Designate Hilton has a Law and Security Diploma from Fanshawe College and a Police Leadership and Management Development certificate from Dalhousie University.
