Deputy Crowell

Deputy Chief Mark Crowell has been a member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service since 2001.  

Over his career, he served in a number of different areas, including Frontline Patrol, Domestic Violence, Communications, Major Case, Records and as the Executive Officer to the Chief of Police. He has co-led several continuous improvement projects, including the Dictation/Officer Entry Project, the Civilian Staffing Review, and the Staffing and Workload Demand Project. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Canadian Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo. 

As the Deputy Chief of Police – Administration & Member Services, he oversees areas including Human Resources, Finance & Assets, Information Technology, Administrative Support and Professional Development & Respect in the Workplace.
