Waterloo Region, Ontario – Do you have old electronics you’re not sure what to do with? Now’s your chance to get rid of them!

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to partner with Greentec, Certified Electronic Recycling Company, to host an electronics green recycling program in support of the 2020 Special Olympics Spring Games.

Community members who have end-of-life cell phones, laptops and tablets are encouraged to donate them for green recycling. Other electronic devices will not be accepted.

“We are very excited to partner with Greentec, to not only show our ongoing support for Special Olympics, but for the environment. Protect your data and the environment, while supporting a worthy cause,” said Waterloo Regional Police Sergeant Melissa Quarrie, Games Manager for the 2020 Special Olympics Ontario Spring Games.

The fundraiser will take place from March 13, 2020 to May 24, 2020.

Donations can be made at the following Waterloo Regional Police locations:

  • Police Reporting Centre (150 Maple Grove Road, Cambridge)
  • Central Division (134 Frederick Street, Kitchener)
  • North Division (45 Columbia Street East, Waterloo)
  • South Division (176 Hespeler Road, Cambridge)

Donations can be made Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

"Greentec is honoured to be part of such an important joint-initiative with Waterloo Regional Police Services, aimed at championing environmental responsibility while supporting our community at Special Olympics Ontario," says Tony Perrotta, President and CEO of Greentec.

The more electronics collected, the greater the donation Greentec will make! All proceeds support Special Olympics Ontario.
