Police Charge Driver with Impaired Driving after Responding to Waterloo Collision

Impaired Driving Arrest

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Police arrest and charge driver with impaired driving after responding to a motor vehicle collision in Waterloo.

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police responded to reports of a possible impaired driver, driving the wrong way on Erb Street East and striking a hydro pole.

Officers arrived on scene and located the driver of the vehicle.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 19-year-old Vaughan male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Drive Wrong Way - One Way Traffic

Erb Street East was closed for several hours between Regina Street and Moore Avenue while hydro crews repaired the extensive damage.
