WRPS Arrest Male after Responding to Suspicious Person in Cambridge

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On June 17, 2023, at approximately 9:10 p.m., police responded to reports of a suspicious person painting a motorcycle in the area of Main Street in Cambridge.

Officers arrived and determined that both the motorcycle and licence plate attached to it had both been reported stolen.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized a stolen driver licence, suspected hydromorphone and two prohibited weapons.

A 31-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000
  • Possess Identity Document
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Breach of Probation Order
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)

The male was held for a bail hearing.
