
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Police have arrested a female and seized suspected drugs after a traffic stop in Kitchener.
On June 3, 2023, at approximately 6:15 p.m., an officer from WRPS’ Direct Action Response Team on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ottawa Street North and Shaftsbury Drive.
The officer determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was a suspended G1 driver and placed her under arrest.
Through investigation, officers located and seized approximately 30 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Also present in the vehicle during the traffic stop were a young child and two large, uncontained boa constrictor snakes.
The driver, a 35-year-old Kitchener female, was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Driving while under suspension
- Class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver
The involved vehicle was seized for a mandatory seven-day impoundment.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
