Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male after Disturbance in Cambridge

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On February 3, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the area of Beverly Street and Wellington Street in Cambridge.

Through the initial investigation, it was determined that the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation. The suspect then displayed a weapon and made threats to cause physical harm to the victim.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Cambridge male was charged with: 

  • Utter threats to cause death
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carry a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to court order
  • Failure to comply with court order
  • Possession of suspected fentanyl
  • Possession of suspected methamphetamine

There were no physical injuries reported. The victim and suspect are not known to each other

The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
