Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Collision in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit continue to investigate a fatal collision in Kitchener.

On February 3, 2021, at approximately 3:50 p.m., emergency services responded to a serious collision in the area of Victoria Street South and Fisher Hallman Road.

A vehicle turning left at the intersection was struck by a vehicle travelling west on Victoria Street South. Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the vehicle turning left- a 25-year-old Kitchener male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, the driver of the vehicle turning left, a 25-year-old Kitchener female has been charged with careless driving causing death.

The driver of the vehicle travelling west, a 20-year-old Kitchener male, has been arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing death, impaired operation causing death, and operation blood drug concentration.

The investigation is ongoing.
