Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Services Unit are investigating a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
On December 21, 2022, at approximately 10:25 a.m., emergency services responded to the area of Church Street East and Arthur Street North in Woolwich Township for reports of a collision.
Through initial investigation, police determined that the driver of a pickup truck was turning left onto Church Street East and struck a pedestrian crossing at the crosswalk.
The pedestrian, a 91-year-old Elmira female was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 59-year-old Perth County male reported no physical injuries.
The intersection was partially closed for several hours for the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
