The Waterloo Regional Police Service's General Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred in the area of King Street South and William Street in Waterloo.

Investigators are looking to identify and speak to this individual in connection to this incident.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a robbery at a commercial property in Waterloo. 

On December 30, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at a business in the area of King Street South and William Street. 

The suspect concealed merchandise and attempted to flee the store when he was intercepted by store security. The suspect assaulted the security guard and fled the store on foot with the merchandise. 

The security guard sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the incident. 

The suspect is described as a white male, between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 5'9" tall, with a thin build, short hair, and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a navy blue jacket underneath, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes, black and red Canada ball cap with white writing, sunglasses, and a blue COVID mask. 

The investigation is ongoing.
