A 46-year-old Guelph Male Arrested as a Result of the WRPS and GPS Joint Human Trafficking Unit

In January 2021, Waterloo Regional Police Service and Guelph Police Service’s joint Human Trafficking Unit became involved in an investigation in the City of Guelph.  This investigation resulted in a 46-year-old Guelph male being charged with Unlawfully Possess Identity Documents, Uttering Threats, and Receiving Material Benefits. 

The victim has now been provided with a safety plan and community resources due to the embedded Human Trafficking Crisis Intervention counsellor from Victim Services.
