COVID-19 Outbreak Declared at WRPS- Central Division

Region of Waterloo Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak for Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division, located at 134 Frederick Street in Kitchener.

The declaration comes after two members from the Service tested positive for COVID-19 in four days.

Since March 2020, a total of 32 members of the organization have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes sworn and civilian members from six different buildings in Waterloo Region.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service continues to work closely with Waterloo Region Public Health to ensure proper contact tracing is undertaken. Members of the public do not need to take any action unless contacted by Public Health.

The Service continues to follow health guidelines set out by Waterloo Region Public Health and has implemented several measures to ensure the health and safety of its members. Service delivery to the community and regular response operations will not be affected.
