Five Arrests made in Connection to Ongoing Drug Trafficking Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service, in partnership with the Guelph Police Service and the Peel Regional Police Service have arrested five people in connection to an ongoing investigation regarding drug trafficking throughout Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.

The investigation, which began in the Spring of 2019, resulted in six Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants being issued on residences and vehicles in Kitchener, Cambridge, Brampton, and Guelph. Five individuals  - a 38-year-old Guelph male, a 28-year-old Guelph female, a 22-year-old Brampton male, a 33-year-old Brampton male, and a 35-year-old Kitchener female - have been arrested and charged with various drug and ammunition offences, including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving Offences and Breach of Court Order. Further arrests are anticipated.

As a result of the investigation, police seized the following items:

  • Two vehicles
  • Approximately 53 grams of suspected crystal meth 
  • Approximately 4 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 350 rounds of ammunition
  • One flare-gun with flares
  • One electric handheld cattle prod
  • Approximately $10,000 in Canadian Currency
